The National Black Programming Consortium (NBPC) develops, produces and funds media content about the Black experience for primary distribution on PBS, PBS.org, and BlackPublicMedia.org. NBPC has invested more than $12 million dollars in award winning programs such as "180 Days: A Year in an American High School", "American Promise", "Through a Lens Darkly: Black Photographers and the Emergence of a People", "Black Folk Don't" and "Counter". Our professional development programs ( 360 Incubator +Fund, New Media Institute, Digital Media Fellowship) provide additional support to African American producers and directors who work in an extremely competitive industry. Finally, NBPC is the executive producer of the public television series "AfroPoP: The Ultimate Cultural Exchange", an anthology series featuring independent documentaries about the contemporary global black experience, now in its eighth season.
